In short: SPMP Mark Keyin reads student names and marks from a file you choose (or cells you copy) and writes them into a grade-entry web page you already have open. Everything happens inside your own browser.
This policy applies to the SPMP Mark Keyin Chrome extension ("the Extension"), developed by Wan Mohd Hakimin Bin Wan Shafie. It explains what data the Extension handles, how that data is used, and who it is shared with, in line with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.
The Extension processes the following data, entirely on your own device:
| Data | Source | Why it's needed |
|---|---|---|
| Student names and mark values | An Excel/CSV file you choose to open, or spreadsheet cells you copy and paste into the Extension | To match each student's name against the names shown on your currently open grade‑entry page, and to fill in the matching mark field(s) |
| Text content of the web page you are viewing | The single browser tab you are actively using, read only after you click "Preview Match" or "Fill Marks" | To find the rows of student names on that page and place the correct mark values next to them |
| Clipboard content | Only when you choose the "Paste directly from Excel" option and press Ctrl+V or click "Paste from clipboard" | To read the spreadsheet cells you copied, as an alternative to uploading a file |
The Extension does not collect health information, financial information, authentication credentials, personal communications, web browsing history, location data, or any data from any page other than the single tab you are actively working on.
chrome.storage, to a database, or to any remote server. The Extension contains no networking code and makes no outbound requests. The Extension keeps data only in memory, for the current popup session. Closing the extension popup, navigating away, or closing the browser tab clears all student names and marks the Extension was holding. Nothing persists between sessions.
| Party | Data shared |
|---|---|
| Developer of this Extension | None — the developer has no server and receives no data from installations of this Extension |
| Advertising or analytics providers | None — no such services are integrated |
| Any other third party | None |
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
activeTab | Read and modify the single tab you are viewing, only after you click a button inside the Extension |
scripting | Inject the script that reads student rows and fills mark fields on that same tab |
clipboardRead | Read spreadsheet cells you copy, only when you use the "Paste directly from Excel" feature |
The Extension does not request any host permissions or match patterns, and cannot access any website automatically or in the background.
The names and marks processed by this Extension may relate to students, including minors. This data is supplied and controlled entirely by the lecturer or staff member using the Extension, is processed only locally on that person's device, and is never transmitted to the developer or any third party. Institutions should ensure use of the Extension complies with their own student‑data handling policies.
Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no server-side storage to secure. Standard browser sandboxing applies to the Extension like any other Chrome extension. We recommend keeping Chrome updated and only installing the Extension from the official Chrome Web Store listing.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised and the new version will be published at this same URL. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing notes.
